What we need?
Fortrea is currently seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Director to join us in India, this truly represents and incredibly exciting opportunity for the right person to join a very successful global sales team.
The Senior Business Development Director will need a pioneering perspective and be tasked with driving and delivering business from our current and new Indian Pharmaceutical and Biotech clients.
About you
This role will be home based in India. You will have a background in a Clinical CRO although we would consider candidates from other scientific backgrounds who have strong business development skills and experience of clinical trials.
In addition, the ideal candidate should be able to offer:
Excellent understanding of the drug development continuum
Insightful understanding of the Indian Pharmaceutical/Biotech markets
Strong team player: ability to work very closely with colleagues in and across countries/regions
Significant (at least 5 years) commercial expertise, ideally in a CRO or other Life Sciences environment
Highly developed interpersonal skills, ability to form strong and effective relationships internally and externally
Ability to adapt your style and approach to different audiences internally and externally
Experience of presenting to executives and/or senior levels within a client organization
Ability to establish meaningful relationships with executives and/or senior levels within a client organization
Able to work autonomously and effectively, managing your own priorities in conjunction with those of your colleagues and your clients
Proven ability to identify, develop and implement creative and innovative strategies that lead to effective long term client relationships
Ability to drive development of new business in country, develop targeted accounts by effective networking and prospecting, deliver creative proposals and build a sales pipeline
Willingness to travel, around 50% of the role will include visiting clients across India with some travel to the other regions for meetings and conferences
Bachelors degree in life science or business field preferred
